TREE HOUSE

A tree house, a free house,

A secret you and me house,

A high up in the leafy branches

Cozy as can be house.

A street house, a neat house,

Be sure and wipe your feet house

Is not my kind of house at all-

Let’s go live in a tree house

Poetry is impossible to give a definition and takes on many forms in the minds, hearts and expression/meaning in each individual’s life. It broadens an individuals thinking and mind as well as enriching the lives and delights the ears and emotions of all.  Many different elements are used in the unique design that poetry takes on.  These elements are language, rhythm, rhyme, humor, content and imagery. There are many different types of poetry elements that develop it and ways in which it is expressed. Such as rhymes and chants which have been around for a long time and are always being changed as well as new ones developed.  Nursery rhymes are one of the first types of rhythm rhyme children are exposed to. Then as children get older they start to use chants like in hand patting games and cheers.  Narrative poems tell stories that have a beginning, middle and end.  Ballads take on a narrative form and incorporate a folktale.  Lyric poetry takes on melody and rhyme and is often expressed in song. A free verse has no structure to follow it does not have to follow the traditional elements where as Structured poetry does.  Some examples of structured poetry are Haiku, Limericks.
